The Pastoral Counseling Ministry at Pacific Coast Church (PCC) is committed to helping people maintain a growing, vibrant, and healthy walk with God and with those around them.  PCC believes that this goal can only be accomplished through the sanctifying work and power of God’s Spirit operating in the life of the believer (John 16:1-15).   PCC also believes that ultimate success will be determined by a counselee’s willingness to embrace and apply God’s truth to his/her life, avoiding those things that would detract from godly living.  Therefore, PCC’s Counseling Ministry is foundationally centered on God’s Word as the ultimate source and standard for guidance, direction, and truth (2 Tim 3:16).  
 
PCC also understands that God created man as both a physical and spiritual being (1Thess. 5:23), requiring that the whole person must be addressed within the context of the counseling environment.  Therefore, PCC does recognize the importance of identifying and addressing any abnormal physical or behavioral issues that could impede one from moving forward in counseling and the sanctification process.
