The bible describes the role of Deacons as being key servants within the Body of Christ, full of wisdom and the Spirit (Acts 6:2-4). The Deacons at PCC are considered to be our "key" servants and a tremendous blessing to our church family.  We hold them in high regard and consider their example of commitment and dedication as God's provision for His church.


Dave Buchan
Dave Buchan grew up in Southern California, where he graduated from UCLA undergraduate & dental school. Married since 1985, he & his wife Blair have two children, Brennan & Jessica-Ruth. They have been involved at PCC since 1993. Dave serves as a Community Group Leader for men and enjoys helping with local & international outreach ministries. He also serves as an Elder for our Hispanic Church plant.

Passion for Ministry: To see the lost come to know our awesome Lord and grow to love & serve Him.

Favorite Bible Verse: "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God — this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world,but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is." - Romans 12:1-2
Don Carlson

Don Carlson is a fireman for the City of Los Angeles. He is married to Tammy and has three children, Matt, Ali, and Rebecca. Don has attended PCC for 13 years, serving in various ministries. He currently leads a Couples Community Group.

Passion for Ministry: To faithfully serve God in the building up of His church.

Favorite Bible Verse: “Don’t be alarmed,” he said, “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. - Mark 16:6

Tammy Carlson

Tammy Carlson is married to Don and they have three children – Matt, Ali, and Rebecca. She is an elementary school teacher for the Capistrano Unified School District. Tammy began attending PCC in 1999, and has served in the nursery, Women’s Bible Study, and currently assists Don in leading a Couples Community Group.

Passion for Ministry: Serving God by helping others grow in their walk with Christ.

Favorite Bible Verse: “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Max Harris

Max Harris married Janet in 1961 and moved to San Clemente in 1983. He is a financial services representative with a focus on retirement planning. He began attending PCC in 1997 and co-leads a Men’s Community Group as well as the 60's Plus Community Group.

Passion for Ministry: Helping people to know Jesus and to grow in their walk with Him through Bible study.

Favorite Bible Verse: All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. - 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Marilyn Herr
Marilyn Herr married Dick in 1959, and has four grown children and eleven grandchildren. She has attended PCC since 1965 serving in various capacities. Marilyn currently co-leads with her husband in a “Strengthening Your Marriage” Community Group, and participates in a Leaders’ Prayer Community Group. She also provides lay counseling and mentoring.

Passion for Ministry: To help women grow in Christ to become the mature women God intends for them to be.

Favorite Bible Verse: "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. Lyn Hiner

Lyn Hiner has been married to Rob since 1993. She is a stay-at-home wife and mother to their two daughters, Sarah and Ellie. Lyn has attended PCC since 1996, serving in many areas of ministry over the years, including meals, one-on-one discipleship, children’s and women’s ministries. She and her husband, Rob, currently lead a Community Group for married couples.

Passion for Ministry: That couples draw closer to God and to each other through Bible discussion and application.

Favorite Bible Verse: “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” - Psalm 139:23-24

Rob Hiner

Rob Hiner has been married to Lyn since 1993 and has two daughters, Sarah and Ellie. He is the Creative Director for a publishing company and has attended PCC since 1996. He and his wife, Lyn, currently lead a Community Group for married couples.


Passion for Ministry: To serve God wherever he leads.


Favorite Verse: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6-7

Roger Hudson

Roger Hudson and his wife Judy moved to San Clemente in 1984 and have attended PCC since 1998. Roger served with the United States Marine Corps achieving the rank of Major. He has two grown children, Gavin, a police officer and Megan, an ER nurse. Roger leads the Usher Ministry, co-leads a Community Group, oversees the Bar-B-Q team, and is a member of Carpenters Hands, Audio and Men's Ministry teams.

Passion for Ministry: To serve God's PCC community for His Glory and the growth and support of believers.

Favorite Verse: Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. Romans 5:3-5

Dave Irish

Dave Irish and his wife, Tracey, have attended PCC since 1999. He has four children – Sarah, Brittny, Silas and Acacia, and works for a mechanical contractor. Dave has served primarily in men’s ministry and currently co-leads a Men’s Community Group.

Passion for Ministry: Encouraging men and teens to grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ.

Favorite Bible Verse: “All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved.” - Ephesians 2:3-5

Laura Knoop

Laura Knoop married her high school boyfriend Jamie in 1983. They have three children, Shaun, Caitlin, and Maddie. Born and raised in the Pasadena area they moved to San Clemente in 1990 and started attending PCC in 1999. Laura serves in our high school ministry.


Passion for Ministry: To help the younger generation realize that real freedom is found only in Christ, that their joy and God’s glory are found in the same place and to convince the young believers that they are not the church of tomorrow but of today.


Favorite Bible Verse: “Therefore since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith...” Hebrews 12:1-2

John Krantz

John Krantz is married to Sandy and has two children, Ryan and Grace. He began attending PCC in 1997 when his family moved to San Clemente. John has served in various youth and adult ministries and currently serves as a Leader of a Men's Community Group.

Passion for Ministry: Connecting with other men in our desire to learn and draw closer to God.

Favorite Bible Verse: "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." - Ephesians 4:29

Mike Kreutz

Mike Kreutz graduated with a BS in Biology from the University of California, San Bernardino, then went to school in Iowa where he graduated and received a Doctor Degree in Chiropractic.  He married Gloria and moved to San Clemente in 1983.  Mike came to PCC in 1994 and has three children, Chalom, Ryan, and Katie.  He serves as a Leader of a Men’s Community Group and in other various ministries.

Passion for Ministry: Mentoring men on how God intended men's role in leading the family and how to love his family.

Favorite Bible Verse: "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." - Romans 5:8

Lorraine Meadows

Lorraine Meadows is married to Tom and enjoys being a homemaker, mother, and grandmother.  She serves as a leader in a Women's Community Group and is involved with lay counseling and mentoring women at PCC.

Passion for Ministry: Encouraging women to trust and believe who God is so they will apply His truth to experience real change.

Favorite Bible Verse: "Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits- who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion," - Psalm 103:2-4

Bill Parr
Bill Parr is a Production Analyst at Applied Medical and has a BS in Mechanical Engineering.  He is married to Jennie and has attended PCC since 1993. Bill provides mentoring to men and oversees the Men's Discipleship Community Group.

Passion for Ministry: Encouraging men to righteousness.
Jennie Parr
Jennie Parr is married to Bill.  She is originally from Chicago and is a homemaker.  Jennie provides lay counseling, and mentor training to women and is a mentor/advisor in our Children’s Ministry.

Passion for Ministry: That women would embrace the freedom found in Jesus Christ and know the joy of their high calling as wives and moms.

Favorite Bible Verse: " Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." - Psalm 73:23-26
Connie Vickers

Connie Vickers is married to Jim and they have two grown children and two granddaughters. She has attended PCC since 2000, serving in various capacities including prayer ministry and worship team. Connie currently serves as a Community Group leader and mentor and, along with Jim, coordinates and leads the Fountains at Sea Bluffs ministry.

Passion for Ministry: Mentoring and encouraging women in the small group setting as we seek to apply the principles of God’s word to our everyday lives in a practical way.

Favorite Bible Verse: “Therefore there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering...” - Romans 8:1-4

Jack Welty
Jack Welty is a part-time consultant for the lumber industry.  He earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Penn State University.  He and his wife, Barbara, were married in 1959. Jack leads the 60's Plus Community Group and serves as PCC's Treasurer.

Passion for Ministry: Serving seniors and teaching God's Word.

Favorite Bible Verse: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." - Colossians 3:23-24
